My Recent Drugstore Favorites!

Updated: Apr 7, 2019

With the increase of popularity in cosmetics and the major growth in the beauty industry it's no surprise that many brands are responding as quickly as possible. Deemed as "drugstore" these brands are more affordable than the luxury brands (like Armani, Dior, YSL, etc.). Though they are more affordable that doesn't mean that you're losing out on quality. YouTubers like KathleenLights and Jefree Star have been trying out lots of drugstore products lately and it is causing the products to fly off the shelf.

But enough about everyone else, this is about me *insert hair flip emoji*

1. e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation

I bought the shade Pearl and it's just a tiiiiiiiny bit too light for me. I'm super fair so I generally gravitate towards the lighter if not lightest shade available but I could probably go one shade darker and it wouldn't be too bad. Honestly I haven't been the most adventurous with drugstore foundations since my high school days but I honestly love this one. It looks really great with my Benefit Porefessional primer and it truly does last all day. (I work retail and I am talking all day and I don't see a lot of budging). It does settle a bit into my smile lines, but so does every foundation so I can't exactly be mad about this one doing so. The coverage is light/medium but buildable. Definitely a new favorite that I will be buying again, if only for the price point! Get it at Target for $6!

2. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

I know, I know, I know, beauty gurus have been talking about this blush for years. They're really not wrong though. I really like coral toned blushes and this one does not disappoint. It goes on pigmented and it truly lasts all day. It also blends really well with my contour without the transition looking patchy or muddy. I haven't tried any other colors of their blush because I've been so in love with this one, but I think I'm going to have to. Target carries it for $6.99

3. Wet n' Wild brushes

As far as tools go my favorite brushes are from Wet n' Wild! (Yes I love Morphe for other affordable brushes but we're not even going to get into that today). I have these in my kit and they blend eyeshadow out like a dream. I've used them quite a bit and have washed them several times and they still have retained their shape really nicely! If you have the Target app they have lots of coupons available and the last time I bought these brushes they were around 74 cents (!!!!!!)

The link takes you to a Walgreens sale for them!

4. NYX Micro Brow Pencil

Oh, we love our brows. It's no secret at all. The NYX pencils are an exact dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz but for like half the price. They're a favorite of mine to keep in my kit. The only complaint I have with these is that the caps don't stay on super tight at times so they can fly off. But as long as you keep the actual pencil part twisted down it's not really the end of the world. I hope that they expand their shade range soon as well!

Find them at Target as well for $6.99. I believe they're around $10 at Ulta.

I'm going to wrap up this post here as I'm sure it's getting long but these are some of my new favorites. Maybe one day Target will sponsor me and those will be affiliate links (one could only hope of something so beautiful lol).
